Over the last two weeks Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka has been lashed with torrential rains. Continuous rains have led to landslides and flooding in many places. Though now the torrential rains have stopped; rehabilitation and restoration in the area is just begining. Thousands of people are living in a total 42 relief camps in Kodagu. Supplies have been sent to the relief camps, but more will be required over the coming days, as rehabilitation and restoration work progresses.
DDII and our client Greenpeace India have been supporting Kodagu Model Forest Trust, which is currently engaged in relief and rescue in the region, and is providing support to the district administration.
We request you to please send your generous donation to Kodagu Model Forest Trust, as now that the waters have receded the task of rehabilitation and restoration is the need of the hour.
The trust works in Coorg district of Karnataka, Western Ghats and other regions with an aim of maintaining environmental and socio-economic equilibrium, and conservation of catchment areas.
The people in Kodagu district need your support, everything you can donate will help them rebuild their lives after this disaster.
